DEEP IMPACT will return to action in the Japanese St. Leger Trial

Deep Impact head for the Japanese St. Leger trials Kobe Shinbun Hai (Jpn-G2) at Hanshin on September 25, and then go to Kikka Sho(Japanese St. Leger) at Kyoto on 23 October.

The unbeaten colt in five starts was completing the Satsuki Sho(Japanese 2000 Guineas)/Tokyo Yushun(Japanese Derby) double to give the owners, trainer Yasuo Ikee and jockey Yutaka Take.

Deep Impact is out to become the 2nd horse to complete invincible the Japanese Triple Crown, hoping to join Shinboli Rudolf in 1984. He has only a weak point that a bad habit of missing the start in recent two races.

Deep Impact remains undefeated in five starts. Northern Farm bred the bay colt, by Sunday Silence out of the Alzao mare Wind in Her Hair. Owner purchased him for 70 million yen at the 2002 Select Sale. His half brother Black Tide is winner of the Spring Stakes (Jpn-G2) in 2004.
